[She sighs quietly, but doesn't lose the chipperness for now. Of course she's cranky, but she's also gotten used to late nights before, and she knows better than anyone not to let her emotions show when she is around others. It's not lying, exactly, so much as she didn't want to take out her frustration on anyone.
So as soon as she is given a chance, she takes the seat next to her, propping her elbow on the table so she can turn to look at her properly.]

It's not really a secret, I'm just not used to sleeping for very long. I was pretty busy back home.

To answer your question, I worked in finance— debt collection, specifically. It's a lot of traveling and research. There aren't enough hours in a day to get things done, so I'm used to four and a half hours of sleep.

Negotiating, mostly? A lot of the contracts I'm dealing with are hundreds of years old, before my department even existed. So I try to work things out in ways that benefit both sides.
