And have they found any answers to that? In my experience it seems that the most common reason is entropy. Everything has a cycle, everything has an end, whether that be your average person, or worlds or entire pantheons of gods. It is only longevity that truly changes.

That does sound like an interesting way to investigate though. It never hurts to try and learn more. Knowledge is, as they say, power.
