Technology harnessing the power of some natural materials is common. Some of those materials have been formed by powerful entities people in other worlds would call "gods."

The pocket dimensions I've seen are at least partially funded by research by my employer, but the universe is vast, and I wouldn't rule out naturally occurring ones, or... unnatural ones created by gods.
