CHARACTER SUMMARY

Topaz is a Senior Manager for the Strategic Investment Department of the Interastral Peace Corporation, a company that has control of the economy, tech, entertainment, news media and defense of nearly the entire galaxy. As the head of the Special Debts Picket Team, Topaz is responsible for collecting debts incurred by the use of IPC defense technology or the ecological restoration of planets. She prefers to do collections in person, rather than delegating. She goes the extra mile for clients: She learns foreign languages even though the implant in her brain translates meanings and transmits intent. Whenever possible her goal is to ensure all parties involved in a deal are happy with the outcome. This doesn't stop her from withholding crucial information or using her own tragic backstory as an emotional appeal to get her way.

Even those who refuse to do things her way recognize her genuine desire to help others. She pushes her perspective with the belief that she knows best. In a universe of unpredictable dangers, the stability that comes from the IPC is the least worst option. Generations of indentured servitude can't be as bad as getting obliterated by monsters.

Booksmart and hard working, she quickly rose through the corporate ranks to become the youngest Director in her department. A workaholic to the extreme, even the 4.5 hours of sleep she gets at night are spent lucid dreaming about the tasks she'll have to complete the next day. Plans to take time off with the only client that's friend-adjacent remain in the planning phase indefinitely. Her work days run long, then she returns to her pet palace to cuddle critters or play ~~Pokemon~~ Aetherium Wars.
